In case you were wondering, in Oakland leaving the following note on your windshield will not prevent a $48 fine being place over it.

Officer,
I tried starting my car this morning to move it and found the battery is dead. It’s 8:45am now so I don’t have time to find somebody to jump it. More importa significantly, I’m contagious with strep throat right now and couldn’t risk infecting whoever was to help me.
Please, please understand my situation and spare me the parking ticket this once.
